I joined Tri-Force a couple of years later and have gone on to compete at all distances up to 70.3, but never a full distance IronMan. I’ve been lucky enough to represent GB at both European and World championships, supported all the way by the club members and especially coaches.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI started coaching as a way of giving something back to the club, and am now proud to be Head Coach. my triathlon journey in 2014 after getting a charity place for the standard distance ITU event in Hyde Park and haven’t looked back since, with the mixture of swimming, cycling and running providing a great counterbalance to a sedentary work environment.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI’ve competed several more times at Olympic distance (including the Windsor and London triathlons) and also middle distance (including Alpe d’Huez, Weymouth 70.3, Grafman and The Centurion).\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince joining Tri-Force in 2016, I’ve found that the club has provided a supportive atmosphere which has motivated me to continue training and competing. My favourite distance is a chatty 5k often at my local parkrun. It was during these chatty runs, that some cyclist friends suggested I enter Ride London. I sold my commuter bike, bought a road bike and 100 miles later I had completed my first ever sportive. Not one to miss out on a bit of bling, I learned to swim in open water, and completed Swim Serpentine earning the ‘London Classics’ medal. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNow that I had all the kit, I had no other excuse but to enter a ‘real’ triathlon, which I did at the end of 2019.
